MicroPhage's platform bacterial identification and antibiotic susceptibility / resistance testing technology allows for broad diffusion across many market areas from medical diagnostics out to environmental and industrial testing. The company is focusing on the development of medical diagnostics for use in professional microbiology laboratories initially, but is aware that the technology's reach has the potential to exceed this area. This paper provides market analysis for six initial medical diagnostic opportunities MicroPhage will develop in building the company.

MicroPhage is focused on the development of a portfolio of products that addresses the needs of hospital and reference laboratory-based microbiology laboratories for all opportunities in the first five years. This plan allows MicroPhage to penetrate a relatively concentrated market and develop its own direct sales force, key drivers in negotiating distribution partnership license terms. The Company plans to exclusively use partner distributors for the European and Japanese markets, which will follow U.S. introduction by approximately 18 months.
